Just 30 minutes from the centre of Lisbon and next to Fonte da Telha Beach, the PGA Aroeira No.1 and No.2 courses spread across the Herdade da Aroeira with different layouts and difficulty levels – but with one common denominator: the quality that allows it to host international tournaments and provide each player with an experience that lives up to expectations.

PGA Aroeira No.1 -
a European classic

Inaugurated in 1973 and designed by architect Frank Pennink, PGA Aroeira no.1 has stood the test of time – and the level of those who play it. Flat but demanding, it combines narrow fairways between pine trees and strategic lakes that demand reading and precision with every shot.

The 18^th hole is the most memorable moment – a combination of serenity and challenge that always leaves you wanting to do it again.

Ranked among the ‘100 Best Courses in Europe’ by Golf World, it has hosted the Portuguese Open (1996 and 1997), the Ladies Amateur Championship (2010 and 2011), the European Men Clubs Trophy (2013) and several stages of the Ladies Open. This year it will be hosting the Open Golf Portugal 2026.

Recently renovated, the course has been given a new lease of life – including a modern Clubhouse just a few metres from the last shot, where the sport turns into a celebration.

Inaugurated in 2000 and designed by architect Donald Steel, PGA Aroeira no.2 has a more modern and strategic layout. Wide greens, five lakes and multiple tees guarantee a balanced experience – for experienced players who want to try out different styles, and for those who are building their game.

The route flows lending rhythm to the ride and turning each exit into a new challenge. Among the tournaments hosted, the Ladies Open of Portugal and various stages of the Q-School stand out.
